Work hard - Play hard

An afternoon trip to Belgium for some lunch.  Saturday, 20 May 2006.
View from the autobahn after crossing into Belgium.

A nice picture of the guard rail and the beautiful green country side.

The village of Stavelot in Belgium.
Pictured in the traffic circle is a statue of a witch.
The village has a "witch themed" festival every March.

The cobbled stoned streets.

Operation code name: Trappistes Rochefort
Classification:  Double Secret Squirrel
Lead Operative:  Agent Shawn Carmichael pictured taking delivery
Location:  Unknown alley behind Belgium monastery
Purpose
:  Holy Grail of beers brewed by sequestered Belgium Monks

We bravely explored the village of Malmedy from the inside of the dry car.

Think the owner of this van had been rear-ended more than once?
Not only did it rain but there was "pea" sized hail.

Made a mad dash from our parking spot to the nearest restaurant for some lunch.
Ironically, we drove all the way to Belgium to eat in an Italian restaurant.

When we get a nice weekend we will have to come back.

The rain finally stopped on our way back home.

Picture of Spangdahlem Air Base from the Autobahn.

As we drive past the base it starts to rain again.

There are a lot of bright yellow fields around us.
Not sure what crop is being grown?
